1. When a baby panda is first born, it only weighs about 100g which is about the same size as a mouse! An adult giant panda can get to 1.5m tall and weighs 150kg!

2. An ant is said to be able to lift up to 50 times its own weight, and pull loads more than 30 times its own weight! That is the same as an average human adult lifting a fully grown African elephant!

3. There are over 20,000 species of bee worldwide however, only 4 of these bee species actually make honey! Mainly the European and Asian honeybees that are able to carry their own body weight in nectar back to the hive to turn into honey.

4. When a hippo gets hot, it produces pink sweat that not only cools the hot hippo down but also has antibacterial properties and therefore also helps the hippo to help fight infection.

5. An owl has no teeth and therefore they swallow their prey whole. After about 12 hours, the owl regurgitates any features and bone in a spherical shaped pellet.

6. Apparently, just one full breath from a fully grown blue whale will produce enough air to fill nearly 2,000 balloons!

7. There are thought to be around 25 billion chickens inhabiting the planet worldwide, which is nearly double the population of humans on the planet!

8. A polar bears fur is in fact clear and not white. The polar bear has black skin under its thick fur which allows the surrounding snow to reflect well off the polar bears fur making it appear a bright white in colour.

9. An elephant is the only living mammal that cannot jump, despite the fact that they do have knees! This is thought to be because of the elephants sheer size, but also do to with the way the elephants legs are built.

10. It is common for a crocodile to swallow stones as this helps to aid the crocodiles digestion and even helps to control the crocodiles water buoyancy! It is thought that swallowing stones may also enable them to dive into deeper waters!
